"Living is being at home everywhere." — Ugo La Pietra, father of public space design

The public space is the living room of the city where people from all walks of life gather and enjoy the city and each other’s company. A great public space improves our well-being by enabling social interaction, community bonding and relief from our urban environment.

As Singapore becomes increasingly dense, public spaces become even more important and the role of design in improving our shared spaces and better living is ever more essential. The Urban Design Forum thus aims to raise public awareness and appreciation of public space design through sharings by international and Singapore thought-leaders from the design industry and public sector.
